Update: Dr Who/ The Walking Dead

Comic-Con is in full swing, and, relevant to our interests, premiere dates for Doctor Who and The Walking Dead have been announced.

Doctor Who S7: Speaking at the TV Guide Magazine Fan Favourites’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, Matt Smith revealed that the series’ first episode ‘Asylum of the Daleks’ would be broadcast some time in August. The confirmation comes after news that the episode will be given a public premiere at BFI Southbank in London on August 14, while it will also be screened at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, which takes place from August 23 to August 25.

Series six episode ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’ was given its first showing at the Festival last year and broadcast on BBC One the following day, with Smith’s revelation suggesting that this may also be the case with ‘Asylum of the Daleks’, however, the BBC has yet to confirm an official air date for the new series (but lbr, its totally a lock for August. You aint fooling anyone BBC!).

Well this looks like fun, but it only appears to be one episode so lets hope the rest of the season bears up. I’m quite looking forwards to Amy leaving this season, nasty shrill controlling bitch that she is. If only she could leave and Rory could stay…

The Walking Dead S3: According to Deadline, producer Glen Mazzara revealed at Comic-Con that the third season of the AMC show is due to premiere on October 14.  During the special Walking Dead panel at the San Diego convention, showrunner Robert Kirkman gave very little away about the upcoming season. “We open on a scene of I can’t tell you,” Kirkman quipped.
New characters will also be introduced during the run, including the Governor, played by David Morrissey, and Michonne, played by Danai Gurira.

This trailer is so choppy. It’s just a bunch of stuff strung together, to mixed results (no doubt everyone at SDCC was down on bended knee sucking its dick though. Season 2 burnt me, I remain skeptical). Mostly I am intrigued by the helicopter- if its armed forces then there presumably is an entire organisation back at base with a plan. Is it the same base the flyby from season 1 originated?  What IS the plan? Is the rest of the world in on it? Cautiously looking forwards to finding out…
