The major networks are in something of a pilot-frenzy right now. Here’s a few that are relevant to our interests:
– The Returned, a drama from The Killing‘s Aaron Zelman, asks the provocative question, “What happens when the people you have mourned and buried suddenly appear on your doorstep as if not a day’s gone by? The lives of the people of Aurora are forever changed when their deceased loved ones return.” Possibly a controversial rival to Paul Abbot’s They Came Back (nominally the more ‘legit’ project given it’s based on the French original, now some years old)?
– Sleepy Hollow, written and exec-produced by Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, is described as a modern-day supernatural thriller based on the legend of the titular Westchester Country, N.Y. town. Here to snatch Grimm‘s wig no doubt.
– Delirium, penned by Karyn Usher (Prison Break), is based on a bestselling trilogy about a world where love is deemed illegal and is able to be eradicated with a special procedure. But with 95 days to go until her scheduled treatment, lead character Lena Holoway does the unthinkable and falls in love. Oops. Its like the two most tedious teen, based-onna-book, dramas of the past few years, Twilight and Hunger Games, had a baby! The CW is so jealous right now!
– Penned by newcomer Ryan Condal and exec-produced by Lost’s Carlton Cuse, Eric Gitter and Andy Borne, The Sixth Gun is supernatural western examining six mythical guns that each have their own otherworldly powers. It’s based on the graphic novel of the same name. No word if it’s also based on a rejected Supernatural script…
